Marlborough Kindergarten Association Showcase

Kindergarten has been iconic in NZ since the late 1800’s, with the Marlborough Kindergarten Association established way back in 1949.

Dotted around the region in seven locations, they provide affordable and equitable early childhood education for children aged between 2 and 6 years old. Their caring and fully qualified teaching staff support each of their tamariki to meet their potential, while instilling a life-long passion for learning and the environment.

Earlier last year they engaged our services to design a new visual identity that is playful, dynamic, modern and relaxed, while better reflecting their environmental and community focus.

A clean rounded font that supports Māori macrons was selected to closely resembling the letter forms of a child learning their letters with a single-story ‘a’.

The logo mark uses a koru shape like the previous logo, with three overlapping to reference the connection, community and collective strength of Marlborough Kindergarten Association. The repeating shape also represents the sense of self, others, and their environment that each child develops in their care.

A natural palette of blues and greens speaks to their sustainability and environmental values while adding fun through colour.
